A Detailed Look at Honda Warranty Coverage

To get the most out of these warranties, you have to understand what they cover and the terms and conditions of your coverage. Let's briefly summarize the salient points.

New Honda Car Warranties 

All the new Honda vehicles you'll see at our Honda dealership near Sherman Oaks, CA, are covered by a three-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. This warranty will pay to replace most parts if necessary due to a defect in materials or manufacture. 

That's just the beginning since new Honda cars also have a five-year or 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. The powertrain warranty will pay for repairs to the engine, transmission, and drivetrain resulting from defects in materials or workmanship. 

HondaTrue® Warranties 

The Honda team provides warranty coverage for pre-owned Honda vehicles as well. For starters, HondaTrue® Used provides 100 days or 5,000 miles of powertrain coverage and 100 days or 5,000 miles of non-powertrain coverage. 

There are two levels of coverage for Honda Certified Pre-Owned models. HondaTrue Certified provides a seven-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. It also extends the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty to four years or 48,000 miles for eligible vehicles. For cars that don't qualify for the extension, the program provides a one-year/12,000-mile limited warranty.

HondaTrue Certified+ includes a seven-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. It also extends the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty to five years or 86,000 miles, whichever comes first. 

Honda Parts Warranty 

Whether you're a do-it-yourselfer or have Honda parts and accessories installed by qualified technicians, you'll be happy to know that components sold by our Honda parts center are warranted for 24 months or 12,000 miles.
