Switching to electric power doesn’t just save you money at the gas pump: the federal and state governments offer incentives and tax discounts to make buying electric vehicles more affordable. Find out more about the available credits for the 2024 Honda Prologue below, then visit us at Van Nuys Honda to learn more today!

Federal Incentive

In 2024, the federal government shrunk the list of vehicles eligible for its full tax credit for new electric vehicles. However, the American-made 2024 Honda Prologue meets or exceeds the criteria, so it is still fully eligible for the credit. That means many buyers can claim the full $7,500 credit on their tax returns, making the jump to electric even more affordable and accessible.*

State Incentives

Until recently, the Clean Vehicle Rebate Program gave California buyers an additional tax credit on EVs, but the program ended in 2023. However, you can easily filter through other available tax incentives for buying an EV with the online Drive Clean site, which lets you filter by zip code and more. All EV drivers can use the Clean Air Vehicle sticker to use HOV lanes even when driving solo.

Other Savings

Buying an EV can save you money on your taxes, but it will also save you money overall. Charging at home or a public charging station is significantly cheaper and more efficient than a gas pump, saving up to 60% on fuel costs. EVs also feature fewer moving parts, which reduces breakdowns and saves you money on maintenance and servicing.
